Local

The communities of Nodaway County including the City of Maryville work hard to maintain a productive, positive, cooperative business environment.

NCED Revolving Loan Fund – This 0% loan for up to $10,000 is used for façade development and exterior improvements in downtowns and on special projects throughout Nodaway County.

Industrial Development Authority – Industrial Revenue Bonds

Tax Increment Finance (TIF) – Board and the ability to do special taxing districts such as Community Improvement Districts (CID) should there be a need.

Another resource for capital is emerging – a pathway for local equity investment in qualified innovation.

State

Enhanced Enterprise Zones – Nodaway County has positioned itself to encourage business growth by creating two Missouri Sanctioned Enhanced Enterprise Zones. These Zones provide a minimum of 50% abatement of the net new real property tax for expanding business or new business investment for a ten year period, provided there is a minimum of $100,000 capital investment and net 2 new full time jobs are created and retained.

Additional programs are available for qualified business such as interest reductions, technology development grants, commercialization loans, a Missouri Quality Jobs incentive and customized training for existing and new employees.

Federal

SBIR and STTR funding – For emerging and commercializing technologies, Northwest’s Small Business and Technology Development Centers (SBTDC) offer phenomenal regional expertise in securing SBIR and STTR funding. The SBTDC is also proficient in government procurement, small business finance and export finance. NCED works closely with the Company to ensure we direct you to the appropriate resources and build the case for financing support.

For example, if a qualified business is seeking federal New Market Tax Credit financing support, the majority of Nodaway County is in the “Qualified” census area. Additionally, the City of Maryville and Nodaway County formed a special taxing jurisdiction including the Maryville Industrial Development Corporation Industrial Park and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship on the Northwest Campus.

This District now qualifies as “Highly Targeted” to further aide in making the case for support for this specialized financing program.
