Energizer Holdings Statement of Affect: Maryville Operations

The following statement supplements the announcement of a company-wide plan that will reduce costs by hundreds of millions of dollars and position the company for future growth. Additional information is available at www.energizer.com/media-center. Energizer’s Maryville plant, which manufactures C, AA, 4A and 9 Volt size alkaline batteries, will cease operations by December 2013. The timing of the production phase-out and layoffs has not yet been determined. The approximately 310 hourly and salaried people employed at the facility will receive severance packages upon separation.

ChloroFill Launches Renewable Building Materials Manufacturing Site

Press Release – Embargoed until October 24, 2012 – 9:00 a.m. CDT SAN DIEGO, CA and Nodaway County, MO –October 24, 2012 – ChloroFill LLC, a San Diego-based renewable, formaldehyde-free building material company, today announced that it has successfully closed the Company’s funding round to expand the Company and launch manufacturing in Missouri.   The close includes an undisclosed amount of investment from Global Prospective Investments LLC (GPI), a newly formed Missouri-based investment group supporting the development of value added products and technologies and $250,000 in funds from the Missouri Technology Corporation (MTC), a public-private partnership created by the Missouri General Assembly to promote entrepreneurship and foster the growth of new and emerging high-tech companies. The MTC investment was made through its High-Tech Industrial Expansion program that is geared toward industrial expansion and the creation of high-paying jobs by leveraging Missouri’s existing strength in agricultural production.

NCED Wins Marketing Award

Nodaway County Economic Development was recently honored with the “Missouri Economic Development Council 2011 Award of Excellence” in their Event Marketing Category for their marketing expertise.   The award was presented earlier this year at the MEDC winter conference held in mid-February. Fourth Street Corridor

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Greg McDanel, City Manager (660.562.8001) Fourth Street Improvement Project Partnership on Design Maryville, MO – The City of Maryville and Northwest Missouri State University are proud to announce a joint partnership to begin engineering design on the Fourth Street Improvement Project. The proposed project seeks to improve the corridor along West Fourth Street from Main Street west to the University entrance near North Dunn Street. Improvements to the Fourth Street corridor are referenced in the City of Maryville’s recently adopted Downtown Strategic Plan and the upcoming Comprehensive Plan.
